Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2017

Programme organized by Assam Association, Delhi on the occasion of Swachatta Pakhawada with full support from Min. of DoNER:

On 26/02/ 2017 the programme was held from the morning 9.00 AM. The brief of the programme are narrated below:

8.45 AM:

All the volunteers and participants for painting competition assembled at Srimanta Sankaradev Bhawan, A-14 B, Satsang Vihar Marg, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi – 110067. Total 300 Volunteers from Assam Association, Delhi and Ministry of DoNER coming from different locations of Delhi and NCR joined in the cleanliness Drive of the day.

All the volunteers were apprised and explained about the cleanliness drive to be taken up in three locations namely Mubarakpur, Munirka and Vasnat Vihar area. All volunteers were issued T-shirt, head gears. Necessary accessories required for cleaning operations wereprovided.

Then a Run for awareness for cleanliness was  also arranged and all the volunteers took part in this awareness run.

9.45  AM – 1.30 PM:

After serving breakfast at  Sankaradeva Bhawan  all the volunteers were transported to the three different locations . The volunteers were divided into three groups for three respective locations already selected by the organizers.  Accordingly the volunteers were carrying out cleanliness drive at the three locations. The cleaning activities were continued in these three locations upto 1.30 pm. During the cleanliness drive activities, reporters from ‘AajTak’ and “India Today “also registered their presence and interacted with some of the participants and organizers.

As a parallel activity the painting competition was held in the same time at the ground floor Auditorium of Srimanta Sankaradeva Bhawan. The theme of the painting competition was kept as “Swachhata Ki  worekkadam “. Competitions were conducted for children of three age  groups viz Group A – for age  5  – 8 years  , Group B –  9  to 12 years  and Group C  –  13  to 18 years.  As the children were busy these days for their examination in respective schools, the participants were few. Total 26nos of children participated in the competition. In each group three prizes and one consolation prize were awarded to the winners in the valedictory function held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Bhawan.

1.45 PM   -2.30 PM:

A brief valedictory function was also arranged at the Auditorium of  SrimantaSankaradevaBhawan , The function was attended by all the volunteers , parents along with their  children participating in the painting competition , representatives from Min. of DoNER. One expert Dr. Purabi Barman, senior Micro Biologist , B.L.Kapoor Hospital, Karol Bagh was also invited for presenting a power point presentation on “ Bio- Waste Management “ which was appreciated by all present.  Prizes to the winners of the painting completions were awarded in the function and they had expressed their views and satisfaction in participating at such an event of national importance. Speakers from Min. of DoNER and Assam association, Delhi expressed satisfaction on the voluntary  participation of all in a meaningful way inspiring others so that “Swachhta Abhiyan”  of Govt. of India can be made a  successful one.

The Valedictory function concluded with thanks from Assam Association , Delhi to Min. of DoNER  for giving this opportunity to organize the programme and  expressed interest  for organizing such programme in future also in more meaningful and bigger way.

The programme ended with Lunch to all at Srimanta Shankardeva Bhawan.
